Went swimming and got out because of bad attitude. Not the high point of my day. I didn't swim much. I did decide that if I run 15 miles on Saturday without doing the DEATH RUN. A death run is a run with extreme pain in the feet and a shuffle. Its faster then a walk. Anyway, if my run feels good then I want to run the Marathon in Tulsa. Not the 1/2 marathon. KC would become a training run. I had a job interview today. I'm not sure I got hired. I can't say that I will be here in Kansas beyond the summer. How am I feeling....I woke up today with hand pain. I have no idea why I didn't feel well. Took my 800 mg Advil and went about my daily life. I'm having the dry eye thing again...blah. I keep blinking. I do look pretty cute with my hair down and my cute boots on! Anyway, tomorrow I run 5 miles and ride maybe 26. I'm excited about the ride. Its cold for the run...

Late Running...
I have no idea how I over slept. Oh, wait..yes, I do! My husband decided to sleep late. Anyway, I was suppose to wake up and run at 550am. We were going to run 5 miles. I ran out the door at 6am and my friend was already running and her husband joked that I could catch her. She was running the 1 mile loop at this time and I thought I could catch her heading down the hill. It took running down the hill and around the corner at 8 min mile pace or faster to catch her and then I finally just screamed her name. She heard me. My chest was on fire because its was so cold outside. We ran the four mile route together and chatted. We had a great work out. I was in such a hurry I put my bra on inside out and forgot my cap. I did grab my gloves and ipod. It took me five minutes to get out the door! How cool is that! I think I like getting out of the house before I have a chance to think about how cold it is or wondering if I really want to run. I feel pretty good since I started taking the oral time released b12 along with the shot. I do not have a lot of tingling in my hands and feet. No weird numbness in my arms. No problems just waking up and going. I don't feel elderly anymore. I used to wake up in pain and my joints would pop. I would walk like I was walking on pins and needles. I had a tough time rolling out of bed. The first step sucked. I would do it because the docs said nothing was wrong with me and that maybe I was just depressed. I even tried the anti-depressents...but they really depressed me and made my body just tingle everywhere. I felt worse taking them. I wonder if it was because I wasn't depressed?? Hmmmm, I wonder? Anyway....tomorrow is my tough day to get mentally prepared to workout. It's swim day. I'm not one to enjoy swimming. Its hard but it's great cross training and some day I want to do a ironwoman. Lets see if I come up with an excuse and not go tomorrow!

Tulsa here we come!
Its Sunday! Not running today. Yesterdays run was hard. I got tired and felt winded at the end. It could because I'm not recovered from the marathon or it could be that I can't breath out both sides of my nose because of sinus issues. Our next goal is to run the Route 66 in Tulsa. I've never been to Oklahoma. The entire family is going...well, right now. The military life never stays the same. Who knows what can happen in the next month. We are going so my friend can run her marathon. When I told her I posted that she had a dead thyroid ....she wanted me to add that she also has a hole in her heart. LOL! We both have very low resting heart rates. Is this because we are in good shape or is it the effects of hypothyroidism...again, who knows. My heart rate is between 42-50. Sometimes, I wake with a horrible dream and I feel like I'm sinking. I would like to say that maybe my heart rate dropped even lower while sleeping but I don't know if that's what really happens when you sleep. I think I read your heart rate actually rises. Now I know ladies have issue with Lance...Lance Armstrong. The x wife thing. I always tell the docs that I'm not a Lance and that my resting heart rate should not be 42. I still think Lance is great! I'm not one to judge personal life. Anyway, when I first diagnosed with Hoshimotos my heart rate was 38! No joke. Scared the crap out of my husband. I think that's when he got over the fact that maybe I needed more then a hobby! I said I wasn't going to run today but thinking about Lance makes me want to ride. I ride a really cool Specialized Allez road bike! Its RAD! I love it...

My First Post! Woo Hoo! Are you RAD??
I guess I will start off with my plans for today! I plan to get motivated...just had my b12 shot in my hip. I love the days my tinnitus goes away! I'm going to run 5 miles in cold Kansas weather. Just watched my son fall off his chair while playing with bionicles. Cute. Anyway, running in cold Kansas weather with autoimmune disease. RAD. Do you get it? Running with Autoimmune Disease. Warm weather gear is the most important...because it sucks when my hands, toes, nose and boobs go numb. I wear a nice under armour shirt and Nike winter leggings. My husband bought me cool all terrain winter gloves and I just keep my hands curled inside and then when I'm warmed up I then put in the fingers. It works. Its a process and if I miss or skip an important detail running becomes very difficult. My friend that I'm running with had the flu and missed our first marathon. We are both dead thyroid girls on high doses of meds. I ran the marathon! Well, I can't say ran because I walked the last mile at 21 minutes. A huge let down but then I just try to think of the big picture. Last December I couldn't walk a block without being short of breath. Really, I remember walking my kids to school, huffing and puffing. It sucked. I hope to find others who are RAD or want to be RAD. Anyway, day 1, run 5 miles and take kids to the pumpkin patch. We have a family bet on who's going to find the biggest pumpkin. Oh, I learned if you sprinkle your pumpkin lid with cinnamon it slows the rot. Take the first step and go RAD!
